Championing Progress: Meet the Newest Addition to the HP2032+ Leadership Group

Athletic Australia’s Andrew Faichney has been appointed to the Horizon 1 HP 2032+ Strategy Leadership Group.

Faichney, the General Manager of High Performance at Athletics Australia, brings a wealth of experience to the group, and will replace Swimming Australia’s Tamara Sheppard who has left the Australian high performance sport system for a role with USA Rugby.

Matti Clements, Executive General Manager of AIS Performance, and Chair of the Leadership Group said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the group for the remainder of Horizon One. We look forward to his insights, knowledge, and experience to assist with providing oversight to Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy”.

Faichney said: “It’s an honour to join the leadership group and I appreciate the trust in me. I look forward to contributing to the group and the HP2032+ Sport Strategy.”

The HP2032+ Leadership Groups has been tasked with overseeing the progress of Horizon 1, which includes monitoring projects, facilitating solutions, guiding further strategy development, and advising system partners on roles across the horizon.
